| > computer lab and onsite facilities open lab: Video Machete's Albany Park computer lab is free and open to the public on a registered membership basis. Lab hours are Monday through Thursday from 12pm until 7pm in the evening. We run Macintosh OSX (Tiger, 10.4) computers which all have a fast DSL internet connection with the following software installed: Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, and Excel), Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Image Ready, and After Effects), Macromedia Dreamweaver and Flash, Final Cut Studio, Sound Studio, Bias Peak, and other multimedia authoring software. Services prioritize the unemployed and low-income people's within the Albany Park neighborhood on a first-come first served basis due to the limited amount of computers available. Video Machete's Media Art's Center is also a free wireless intenet access point. Limited print services are available as well as free Voice Over IP calling within the US using Skype technology. Video Machete resident Artists and Youth Apprentices have won various awards across the country for their video and multimedia projects. We offer multimedia production and authoring services specializing in Public Service Announcements, 30-60 second commercial productions, short documentaries (up to 15 minutes), DVD and CD interface authoring, audio mastering and sequencing, dvc-pro/miniDV/DVD/SVHS tape transfers, and website design. Rates vary depending on project, resource availablity and scheduling, and average between $20 - $35 per hour not including costs of materials.
